Who doesn't know Facebook ?

This social network which was, at the beginning, a network between friends at Harvard has become a global network. With more than 150 million users, it «helps people connect and share with the people in your life».
Its problem ? The private information published on this website can be read by all the Internet users. What is shown on facebook is regarded as being a public domain in spite of the levels of confidentiality offered.
The protection of private data is one of the main marigold. According to a study, no country would be able to gather as much information on its citizens as Facebook. That's why rumors of sale of information are fairly stressful.

But, Facebook has not only drawbacks. It makes communication between people easier, particularly through the planet. Its entertaining aspect is set aside face the dangers of psychosis created around the site.

An Anti-facebook sling growls more and more on the web. Indeed, many users fear that information they disclose on their profiles fall into the wrong hands; those of a boss for example.
Include the case of Kevin Colvin in England : after having pleaded for a family emergency to go away from his work, he went to a disguised party and his boss had discovered the fraud through a photo on his profile and dismissed him.
And this case is not isolated, quite the contrary ... To this, a simple remedy: do not tell your life on facebook, do not post compromising pictures and above all choose your friends well. And for those who would be really tired of Facebook, a site* has decided to launch Operation "Quit Facebook Day". A day where everyone will delete their profile. Already 22758 people have pledged to remove their account on the 31st of May 2010.

But are you ready to stop facebooking ? Because, despite the announced dangers, Facebook is the First social network of Internet.
A worldwide scale study shows that Facebook holds more than 5% of time spent on the Internet. A significant figure but that seems low when you see that some people are facebookaholics and spend their whole day connected to spy on their contacts and share their every move.

So, Facebook : a danger to privacy or an essential social network ?
